HBO’s Minx, which premiered earlier this year and was recently canceled, will finish production on Season 2 and begin shopping around to other platforms. According to The Wrap, although Minx has been pulled from HBO Max, the show was a week from wrapping Season 2 production–and will finish out that week to complete all remaining episodes.
“We’ve been removed from HBO Max but we’re still finishing the season,” star Jake Johnson said on Instagram. “So thankfully they didn’t halt production. We’re about a week away from being finished shooting.” Johnson added that Seasons 1 and 2 will be shopped to other possible homes, along with ideas for a hopeful Season 3.
Set in the 1970s, Minx is about a “young feminist from Los Angeles who creates an unlikely bond with his editor as they set out to create the first women’s erotic magazine.” In addition to Johnson, the Ellen Rapoport-created series stars Ophelia Lovibond, Michael Angarano, Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya, Lennon Parham, and Idara Victor.
