After four weeks at the top of the box office charts, it looks like Spider-Man: No Way Home will finally be dethroned this coming weekend.
Paramount’s new Scream movie opens on Friday, and it’s expected to generate more than $20 million over the four-day Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend in the US. No Way Home, meanwhile, is estimated to make $16 million-$19 million, so it might be a close one. These numbers come from Collider.
No Way Home has remained number one since its release on December 17 in the US. Other big movies such as The Matrix: Resurrections and The King’s Man could not dethrone it, but it appears Scream might finally do just that.
