The Batman Receives A PG-13 Rating

The Batman has received its official rating from the Motion Picture Association, revealing that the Matt Reeves-directed film will be a PG-13 experience. On the MPA bulletin, the group noted that The Batman contained “strong violent and disturbing content, drug content, strong language, and some suggestive material,” although not enough adult content was present to warrant an R-rating.

This shouldn’t be too surprising, as the majority of live-action Batman movies have been rated PG-13. Dark Knight Trilogy director Christopher Nolan got around this hurdle with his films, as he focused on dark psychological themes through his films.

The only exception to this was Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as the PG-13 theatrical cut of that film was bumped up to an R-rating for its director’s cut on home video. On a positive note, Batman Oreo cookies are technically rated for all ages because justice doesn’t discriminate when it comes to people.
