Black Friday 2020 is upon us, and many retailers are offering some especially good deals on video games this year as part of their Black Friday sales. Surprisingly enough, some of the best deals we’ve seen are on Nintendo games. A bunch of first-party Switch titles are getting nice discounts during the big shopping event, including Splatoon 2.
Splatoon 2
Best deal: $27 at GameStop | available Wednesday
The best deal we’ve seen on the game will be at GameStop. You’ll be able to pick up a new, physical copy there for only $27–more than 50% off its regular retail price. This deal will be available online starting Wednesday, November 25 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, when GameStop’s main Black Friday sale begins. If you miss out, Walmart will have the game for $30, while Best Buy currently has it for $35. Like many other Nintendo-published games, Splatoon 2 rarely falls below $40, so all of these deals are notable.
Although Splatoon 2 features a single-player campaign (as well as a great single-player-focused DLC expansion), the game’s main attractions are its various online modes. To play these, you’ll need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and fortunately, you can find good deals on those this Black Friday as well. An annual family membership typically costs $35, but you can get one year of Switch Online for only $20 from Target.
