Nintendo kicked off today’s Direct Mini presentation by announcing not one, but two new Monster Hunter games for Nintendo Switch. In addition to Monster Hunter Rise, the company gave us our first look at Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a sequel to 3DS’s MH spin-off.
Like the previous Monster Hunter Stories, Wings of Ruin features a cel-shaded visual styles. Rather than hunting down monsters, as in mainline Monster Hunter games, Stories gives you a monster partner that you can ride. Few other details were announced, but Nintendo and Capcom will share more light on the game in a dedicated Monster Hunter Direct immediately following the Direct Mini.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 does not yet have a release date, but it is slated to launch for Switch in Summer 2021.
